The Impact of Music on childhood and Adolescence Achievement Darby E. Southgate, Vincent J. Roscigno, Ohio State University
Darby and Vincent studied the influence of music and academics in childhood and in adolescence by making the students and parents participate in programs at school and outside schools. They used the OLS regression techniques to know the types and patterns of music and their impact on the school students at different levels. They proposed that music involvement and its outcomes differ on the basis of class, gender, age and background. After a series of analysis and research it was seen that students who involve music in their schedule tend to enjoy and achieve their tasks flexibly as compared to the other children’s. They suggested that music involvement increases achievement levels and greatly affects their academics.
