These are the Two questions: But the answer under the question.

#3. Are alcoholism and other drug addictions a consequence of nature or nurture? If nurture, what environmental factors contribute to such problems?

#4. Is there a difference in a person voluntarily attending meetings of an organization such as AA as compared to being ordered to attend by a judge? If so, what are the key distinctions?

This is the first paragraph that you should but a comment under it ..Read and Comment from your opinion .

I believe that alcoholism and other drug addictions are a result of nature and nurture, so I would say addictions are based on nature and nurture.  Babies born with addicted mothers have a higher chance of being addicted, or having the same struggle with withdrawals that the mother might have. On the nature part, look all around us, we are exposed to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs so why do some become addicted while others never touch it? It has to do with the way you are raised and the influences of the people around you, which affect your decisions.

And this is the second one .Read and comment .

There is definitely a difference from a person who voluntarily attends AA meetings as it is on their own free will as opposed to being forced to do something. Typically, when we choose to do something on our own, it is for our own benefit and not for others. This distinction is what I believe to be the power of choice. When one is told to do something, it is much more difficult to do if it is not from their own free will. Thus, the person choosing to attend AA meetings, in my opinion, will most likely merit better results for doing so.
