Another accomplished and popular painter of the Rococo period was Fragonard. His 1766 painting the Swing is an iconic Rococo piece. Fragonard was a student of Boucher and a master colorist who was known for his attention to detail and sense of humor. Fragonard’s work embodies the Rococo. Again, we see the use of pastels, delicate forms, lyrical composition and a light theme of pleasure set in nature.
