1) Research on one human genetic trait, explaining the following:  

1) name of the trait

2) mode of inheritance - e.g., simple dominant, recessive, X-linked, Y-linked, quantitative trait, etc.

3) phenotypes of the different genotypes

4) short description of the gene's significance

5) genetic disorders associated with them, if any

6) famous people/ celebrities affected by them (optional)

2. Classification of organisms is sometimes a difficult task because of convergent evolution. Answer the following questions:

 

a) How would you go about classifying a newly-discovered animal species?

b) What is convergent evolution and why would it present difficulties in your classification scheme?
