Your Choice of Topic for the Research Paper (worth 2 points)

What specific topic are you going to research, and about which will  you  write a (minimum-length) five page paper?  If it is not obvious, how does this topic relate to the broader issue of global sustainability?  Why did you pick this topic?  Do you think your paper will be more optimistic or pessimistic about how human beings are dealing with and will deal with issues relating to global sustainability?  Why?  (5 sentence minimum)
