1. In your opinion, was the Marshall Plan effective in rebuilding Europe?  Explain why.  
2. In your opinion, why is the Cold War important to the study of Western Civilization?
3. Was the Truman Doctrine and its policy of containment the right solution to the threat of communism?  
4. The Cuban Missile Crisis placed the world on the brink of nuclear annihilation.   Did the U.S. act responsibly in its actions to have the Soviets remove the missiles?  How could the situation have been handled differently?
5. The United States fought in Vietnam to stop communism. Was the war justified?  Explain your response.
