Please compose 5 individual papers based off of the following criteria...

Project 1: Submit your project 1 in here as an attachment and use this forum to discuss each others' project, ask any questions, or make any comments. The project should be based on the following information:

Our economy is still recovering from an event known as “The Great Recession.” What was this, when did it begin, what were the causes of this event, and has our economy fully recovered? The answers to these questions will be the focus of the projects.

For the first project each individual (or team) will research the background of the current economic situation, beginning before 2007. Each person/team will gather their research, prepare, and submit a short paper explaining what cause or causes are responsible for “The Great Recession.”

The length of this report is not as important as the quality of the contents (research). Include as much of the research documentation as possible. This includes any graphs, tables, and/or charts that are necessary to properly portray the information. The paper should be at least 1 to 2 pages in length and should have a minimum of 5 different sources. This report sets the foundation for the remaining four projects so it is imperative that you gather as much information as possible.

There are, to be sure, many different causes of the recession and you should list and explain as many of those as possible. Since there are so many causes of the recession it is important that every student read each others’ projects. The information will be useful in later projects. Compare and comment on the findings of your peers in the forum.

Project 2: Submit your project 2 in here as an attachment and use this forum to discuss each others' project, ask any questions, or make any comments. The project should be based on the following information:

In project one we studied the many different factors that were involved in the creation of the “Great Recession.” So just how serious is this downturn in the economy? What is the exact depth of the impact of this situation on society? These questions we will attempt to answer in the next two projects.

For the second project each person/team will choose a current economic event. The event may be domestic or foreign. All of the events need to be different, so they must be approved by the Instructor. Utilizing research and economic indicators as necessary, explain in detail what the event is, how and when it began, and how that event is impacting your life on a personal level. Each individual/team will gather their research, prepare, and submit a short paper explaining the results. The length of this report is not as important as the quality of the contents (research). Include as much of the research documentation as possible.

The paper should be at least 1 to 2 pages in length and should have a minimum of 5 different sources. This project begins to highlight how every economic event, no matter what it is or where it is occurring can impact every person in society.

Project 3: For this individual and/or team project each team member or individual will choose a current economic event and, as in project 2, identify how that event has an impact on society. You may use the same event as in project 2. In project two the purpose was to describe how that event impacted each individual directly. In project 3, however, the purpose is to describe how that event impacts: first, a specific Fortune 500 company (choose one), and then, indirectly, how that process trickles down to impact you personally. This will begin to exhibit how serious a recession like this is to society as a whole and how some events, although not seeming to affect us personally, actually and realistically do—and in many different ways.

This project is due the same week as Chapter 8. As always, submit in the dropbox and comment on the submission of your peers.

Project 4: So far this semester our projects have highlighted the possible causes of our current economic situation and how that situation impacts each person individually and then how it impacts us through a Fortune 500 company. We all hear a lot in the news about what the economy is currently doing—some say its improving while others say it is getting worse and is going to continue to get worse. Who is right and who is wrong? In project 4 we will begin to analyze the situation and attempt to decide for ourselves, based on real data and information, if it is actually getting better or worse.

In this project each student will choose four annual economic indicators (all separate from any others) as presented since the recession began. These indicators will be collected as a team (or individually) and organized into a report that will not only explain the indicator analysis but also an aggregate description of what the current economic situation is actually doing—is it getting better or worse, positive or negative, going up or down, based upon the information in each indicator?

This project will begin to show us not only how important it is to gather factual data on any situation, but also that we should not rely on anyone else for the information that is necessary for us to make decisions about our own future. This is a small part of the critical thinking process.

Provide proof for every analysis and description offered in your report. The length of this report is not as important as the quality of the contents (research). Include as much of the research documentation as possible. Include all charts, graphs, and tables as necessary.  Be sure to include your sources and read and reply to the postings of others.

Project 5: So far this semester our projects have highlighted the possible causes of our current economic situation and how that situation impacts each person individually and then through a Fortune 500 company. We all hear a lot in the news (and in our environmental scanning articles) about what the economy is currently doing—some say its improving while others say it is getting worse and is going to continue to get worse. Who is right and who is wrong? In project 4 we analyzed the indicators involved and attempted to decide for ourselves, based on real data and information, if it is actually getting better or worse.

In the fifth and final project your team is to study all of the previous project information from all the teams, analyze it, add a severe injection of critical thinking, and actually develop possible solutions (More than one is required) to the economic problems facing this country today. This will also involve understanding much of the material presented throughout the course.

Provide proof for every analysis and solution offered in your report. The report will need to be at least two pages in length. As always the length is not as important as the quality of the contents (research). You will need to base your solutions on actual data (facts) and on sound economic principles and/or theories as presented throughout the text. Include as much of the research documentation as possible.
