The worst workplace disaster in the United States prior to Sept 11th was the 1911 Triangle Factory Fire. In addition reviewing the text and video relating to this disaster, you are to thoroughly review Cornell University's website, Remembering the Triangle Fire http://trianglefire.ilr.cornell.edu/  including links to survivor interviews, testimonials, newspaper and magazine articles, reports and articles and the legacy to gain and understanding of the significance of this event.  

Write a 2-3 page essay explaining why you believe this fire is considered a pivotal moment in US History especially relating to the progressive reforms that resulted.  You want to briefly explain what led up to the tragedy; describe the workers and explain the working conditions in the factory. While you will include some detail of the fire and the victims, you also need to include the aftermath including transformation of labor codes and other laws relating to safety.
