Writing A response to ecological questions

Write a paragraph in response to each of the following questions. Be sure to indicate the assignment number and your name at the top of your paper (or the TA will have trouble giving you credit). 

1. How is wilderness an idea? How could it have a history?
2. In western European thought during medieval and early Renaissance periods, wilderness was seen, nearly simultaneously, as the location of evil and holiness. Explain this duality/paradox. 
3. How does Collingwood’s outline of Greek and Renaissance attitudes toward nature contrast or amplify Nash’s observations?
4. Based on your own personal observations, how do Francesco Francia and Jean-Fury Rebel represent nature/landscape in their work? Do you see/hear parallels to the perspectives provided by this week’s authors?
