Note: a rough draft is a composite of a completed project, not a nearly finished project. A rough draft should incorporate all of the elements as listed below.

Students will select a specific concept, issue, or topic that interests them and is related to their major concerning Sulphur Springs (click here for expanded project description):

  • Students will locate and collect numerical data about the subject (in the form of studies, reports, spreadsheets, or articles)
  • Utilize headers to denote section changes to adhere to template--
    • introduction of topic
      • import of topic
      • name audience as organically as possible
      • include purpose statement at end of intro (with three sub-topics)
    • meaning of visuals---3 sub-topics explored with data visualizations
    • conclusions suggested by data
  • Consider the use of whitespace (correctly integrate and caption images)
  • Create at least two of the visuals (using one photograph from Pixabay or Wiki Commons is okay)
  • Detail their chosen topic in 2-3 pages
  • Use appropriate color and text with design elements in mind
  • Appeal to chosen audience throughout document (write with audience in mind)
  • Create sense of purpose early on and maintain it throughout document
