II: Essay Questions:
On the exam you will be given a choice of answering two out of three essay questions. 

For each question you will need to compare two of the films from the course and make reference to one relevant article from the course. 

The essay questions will be devised from the following three topics: 

• films about medieval national heroes
   
• filmic representation of medieval women
   
• use of the narrative strategy of a "story within a story"
  To prepare, you should choose two of the topics, and select the films and articles you wish to use for those essay questions.
  Review the films and the articles you've chosen, making sure that you think particularly about the use of music and sound in the films.
