Write 100 words worth of poetry, and the grade you get on this assignment will replace the lowest in-class writing grade you have by the due date. 

Your poetry needs to be about or clearly inspired by a concept (hegemony/discourse/commodity racism/intersectionality/respectability politics/cultural appropriation/cultural hybridity/national identity/institutional bias/double conscious ) raised in class. You can use any poetic genre. If you do a short form (like haiku), you’ll need to turn in more than one work. No parodies of poems or songs.
