1.) Compare and contrast the videos below. How do Bob Marley and his son Damian describe the process of voluntary and forced migration, which created the African Diaspora? (Hint: Refer to "Key Terms List #1" for definitions: The African diaspora refers to the communities throughout the world that are descended from the historic movement of peoples from Africa, predominantly to the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, among other areas around the globe). What is the significance of the Exodus biblical story (i.e. Children of Israel, led by Moses, who fled slavery in Egypt to find freedom in Canaanland) in the context of Bob Marley's use of music as liberation theology? 

2.) What did people of African descent lose and what did they gain during the process of voluntary and forced migration throughout the African Diaspora? (Note: Think key terms such as the TransAtlantic Slave Trade, Middle Passage, and cultural retention). "Exodus" was released in 1977, while "Move" was released in 2005. How might the differing historical contexts shape the topics covered in each song? (HINT: Analyze the lyrics and imagery in videos). Does either artist succumb to negative stereotypes of blackness/ Caribbean-ness? If so, or if not, EXPLAIN.
