1. Would the following sets of data show a linear correlation or not? Explain why or why not very specifically. Also, explain if it would be a positive or negative correlation.

a. A group of students take a math test and a physics test. For each student we record their scores (percentages) and plot the points on a scatter plot.

b. A group of students take a math test and a physical fitness test. For each student we record their scores (percentages) and plot the results on a scatter plot.

c. For a math class we record the attendance (number of days missed) and percentage grades on their final exam.

d. For an English class we record each student’s final exam grade (as a percentage) and their favorite color and try to plot this on a scatter plot.
