How was Aryan social structure defined by religious belief? Why did the Aryans have such rigid controls over their population? Why do you think they tied religion and social stratification together in this way?
The Early Aryan Social Structure during the Later Vedic Age was divided into four categories called varnas by their religious and political leaders. Of those four , the Brahmins, or priests, had the duty to carry out sacrifices and were considered on of the purest Social Classes. On the other hand, the lower class , the ones who worked in the occupations were out cast, and considered dirty because their jobs often involved handling the dead.
The Arynas had rigid controls over their population because they were so faith structured. Brahmanism was an early layer of Hinduism. Ultimately, They believed in a cycle of re-birth and Karma
