work cited

A "Working" Works cited page means that these are not necessarily the exact sources that you will use for your research paper but are sources that you have found and are looking over for consideration for use in your paper. Per the assignment guidelines for the research paper, you will need two outside sources in addition to the literary text from our textbook. The PDF Week 6 notes contained a slide that showed you resources for finding outside sources. Both the UU library's online database and the TN Tel database contain a multitude of sources for use that are peer reviewed. These websites should be accessible with your UU login information. You may also use google to find sources. However, sources should be peer-reviewed analysis and NOT non-creditable websites such as Wikipedia, SparkNotes, 123HelpMe, etc. If you want to use google, I suggest using Google Scholar. You can get to this by typing in Google Scholar in the search box. Several of the resources found via Google Scholar will not be accessible without a fee but many are accessible for free. So please make sure that you look at your possible sources before including them on your Working Works Cited page and ensure that you have access to the source (the full article, not just a summary) and that the source covers content that may be usable for your paper. This process takes time!  Please do not wait until the last day to begin your research. That is the reason that a Working works cited is due this week but the final works cited will not be due until the final research paper is submitted. Which leads me to my last detail; the sources that you use for your final paper may change from those that you submit for this assignment. That is okay. You do not need to submit a new working works cited. You will submit a final works cited with the final research paper. Again, the main purpose of this exercise is to get you to start conducting research and begin the process of identifying creditable sources.

Please take a look at the Sample Works Cited page included here. This is the format that you should follow for your Works Cited page. You must include at least two outside souces and the text from the textbook that you will be analyzing. Please consult the final chapters in your textbook or this website (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/) for additional instructions on how to create a Works Cited page.
