ESSAY PROMPT: Using evidence from our text, Old World Encounters, and other information presented in this course explain how religion, travel, and trade created "cross-cultural contacts and exchanges in pre-modern times." You must touch on religion, travel, and trade in the essay. Please briefly note sources, e.g. "In regard to cross-cultural contacts Bentley argues . . ."; "The PowerPoint on the spread of religion notes  . . ."  I won't expect formal footnotes although you are welcome to provide them.

The essay should be proof-read (use spell check and re-read and revise before you turn it in) and adhere to the basic expectations for college level work. I am not requiring a specific number of pages but suggest between two and four double-spaced typed pages. Analytical content, polished prose, and answering the prompt completely are more important than length.
