 The scandal of the L.A.P.D Police department is very sad, unfortunate and devasting to any law enforcement agencies. The scandal describes unprofessional police officers among the pack, in this scandal it goes to show why the citizens do not have any trust and respect for police officers. Based on the scandal the L.A.P.D department have no moral values and will not be effective in fighting crimes in our communities.

   The scandal destroyed the image and reputation of the L.A.P.D police department, they were several payouts of lawsuits for police misconducts. In the largest police misconduct settlement in city history, Javier Ovando was awarded $15 million, An additional 29 civil suits were settled for nearly $11 million. The city, faced with more than 140 civil suits stemming from the corruption scandal, estimates that total settlement costs will be about $125 million. Police were implicated in bank robbery, abused of human rights, police were also featured in the missing cocaine scandal.

    With all these scandals the L.A.P.D police department will be viewed as the worst department and people will be afraid to even share information with them, the level of corruption exist within the unit is immeasurable and of such the value and the effectiveness of the unit will be nil.
