Why does my website sometimes lose traffic suddenly?

Hello everyone,

I noticed that my website traffic changes a lot from week to week even though I continue updating content regularly.

Sometimes pages get indexed quickly, while other times new pages barely receive impressions for days. I also noticed that some older pages suddenly stop getting visitors without major changes being made.

I would like to understand what usually causes these fluctuations and what steps people take to stabilize traffic over time. 

Any advice or personal experience would be appreciated.
