This assignment asks students to engage with the ideas,

concepts, and issues that were raised in the readings and during the lectures on September

14 and 16 by answering the following question: What is the qualitative-quantitative debate

about?

This small essay must be based on the required readings and incorporate at least three of

the supplementary readings listed on September 14 and 16.  Students will be docked one

letter grade for using readings that do not appear on the required and supplementary

readings list for September 14 and 16.
