What is a Separatist?
With an emphasis upon the Puritans during this week of the course, let's explore the nature of the separatist for this week's discussion:
- Ther Puritans were considered "separatists". What do you think that means and how was it expressed in their lifestyle and worldview?
- How can one live "in" the world, and yet, be "separate" from it? To what extent is this possible? Can you think of an example of modern separatists?
Why do you think religion has played such an important part in shaping American history? Please make your initial post by midweek, and respond to at least one other student's post by the end of the week. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.
