Discussion: Historical Development of Operations Management
Operations management today is not what it used to be. It has evolved in its relationship to other business functions, the roles it plays, and the strategic decisions it helps to formulate. In Table 1.2, “Historical Development of Operations Management,” on page 11 of Operations Management: An Integrated Approach, the authors describe the historical development of operations management.
