Lesson of this story: The little Engine that could, although he was small, he wanted very much to help. Despite his small size, he triumphantly overcame doubt and his fear and he pulls the train full of toys to the other side of the mountain. The character believed in himself although he was surrounded by thought who had doubts and he kept trying even when the task became difficult.
