Assignment 1 Instructions:

As indicated in this week’s introduction, employment laws are numerous and cover many aspects of the employment process. Research various laws impacting the employment of staff. As the HR Director for your healthcare organization, prepare a report to senior leadership that identifies the top five laws and regulations that provide the most risk to an employer from a strategic perspective. 


The report can be submitted in table format with the law listed in one column and the risk in the second column.


Length: Minimum of 2 pages, not including title page and references page 


References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources

This is a Doctoral Level Course so this must be written on that level


Assignment 2 Instructions:

Prepare a training schedule to ensure those who need to be trained are trained in the laws that apply to their roles. For example, top leadership needs to be educated from an overview standpoint on all the laws. However, supervisors and managers may not need to be trained in ERISA rules, but should be trained on EEOC, OSHA, ADA, etc. Don’t include specific job titles, but instead include the kinds of roles that need to be included, e.g., bedside nurses, clinic nurses, ancillary medical professionals, housekeeping staff, nutrition staff, business office staff, manager, supervisors, department directors, etc.


For this assignment you will:


1. Prepare a table that includes who needs to be trained/educated and on which laws and regulations.


2. Provide a summary of your understanding of the role human resources management plays in staff education related to laws, diversity, and employee roles and why having a training schedule is vital.
