Week 2 Discussion: Defining Evaluation Goals and Questions

This week’s discussion invites you to think like a program evaluator. If you could evaluate anything about your selected program, what outcomes would you most want to see improve?

1.Program Impact Vision (1 short paragraph)

Imagine your agency’s program is highly successful. What would success look like for clients or participants?

2.Desired Outcomes (1 short paragraph)

Identify one or two ideal outcomes you would want to measure if resources and time were unlimited. Why are these outcomes important indicators of program effectiveness?

3.Measurement Ideas (1 short paragraph)

What kinds of data or tools might capture those outcomes? (Be creative - consider surveys, observations, interviews, follow-ups, etc.)

4.Ethical and Practical Considerations (1 short paragraph)

What challenges might come up in trying to collect this kind of data (privacy, client burden, missing data, etc.)?
