Week 9: Discussion
Hello Students. Before replying to this discussion, please read "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker, and Professor Frew's lecture on "Symbolism in Literature." One thing about this story that I find appealing is how Walker uses symbolism: she doesn't hit the reader over the head with it--it's very subtle. What are some symbols you notice in the story?
