Week 8 Discussion: Communication Conference

 

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Your presentation must include the following:

• The equivalent of 8–16 PowerPoint slides, although you may use any appropriate technology to present (PowerPoint, Prezi, Slideshare, etc.). Carefully follow the guidelines for Presentations [content page] discussed in Week 7.
• Two professional research sources that support presentation content. Cite opinions, statistics, and direct quotations used in bullets on each slide AND include a slide with references at the end of the presentation. (These research sources do not include citations of visuals used in the presentation.) Do not use content from this course as a research source. Review Documenting Sources [content page].
• Two examples from your own ENGL226 classwork (such as quotations from assignments, rough drafts, and/or forum postings). At least two sentences from the same work counts as two separate examples. Presenting and discussing these examples is a chance to reflect on your writing and feedback received, making revisions if needed to provide examples for others. Remember, your presentation will be seen by your classmates, so do not share personal grades or feedback. 
• One visual aid created by you IN ADDITION TO any decorative visuals or visuals borrowed and cited from other sources. The original visual aid created by you might be a pie chart, bar chart, line chart, infographic, flowchart, annotated model document, or something else. (For instance, a visual aid might be an annotation of one of your original or revised assignment submissions, showing in the annotations where specific strategies have been used.) • Two questions for your audience to stimulate discussion and encourage the audience to think about ways to apply the ideas from the presentation in practical and relevant ways in the future.
