WEEK 8

Terrorism 

The Week 8 Forum is mandatory but that having your response included in the research study described in our Syllabus is an area of choice.  Responses to the first question are part of the research study unless you've opted out; responses to the second question are not part of the research study.

Choose one of these two options for your initial post:

1. Choose      a social problem we learned about in class.  Reflect on a specific      experience you had with this social problem in American society or      overseas.  How will your new knowledge of the sociological      perspective change, has your understanding of this social problem      changed?  How so?  Give a specific example.” 

1. How      does one of the major sociological perspectives (i.e., conflict theory,      functionalism, interactionism, feminist theory) help you to understand why      terrorism occurs? In explaining your answer, connect at least three main      elements of the theory to terrorism.
