Week 7 Reflective Paper - Measuring School Climate

Refer to the Measuring School Climate for Gauging Principal Performance link in this week's Readings and Resources.This study looks at school climate and principal performance, emphasizing that principals are responsible for creating a school climate in which teaching and learning are the focus.

The survey instrument uses five factors that influence school climate and provides formative feedback to school leaders on personnel perceptions of these factors in the schools where they teach. As we all know, most of the time principals are evaluated as to their instructional leadership and management of the school.

Write a one-page reflective paper to summarize the research project. In addition to your summary, reflect and respond to this prompt:

Is it fair to evaluate the principal of a school as to how well he or she creates the climate in the school? Why or why not?
