Consider the social, biological, and spiritual effects of historical trauma. What supervision strategy might you use to sensitize your social workers to the reality of historical trauma experienced by Native Americans, African Americans, descendants of Holocaust survivors, and other oppressed immigrant groups? Also, consider what your supervision of a practitioner working with a couple in which one partner was experiencing historical trauma might entail.
