Assignment 3: Budget Planning This week you read about the importance of a budget when managing family resources. Now it's time to create your own budget! Related Course Objectives: CO1, CO5
Directions For this assignment complete the following steps using the interactive Excel worksheet that is attached. It is VERY important for you to look at the bottom of the spread sheet and starting with the Directions tab, click on each tab (1-4): 1. Access the Family Details sheet of the workbook and fill in the required information. You may use your own family as an example or create one. · Provide the family name, jobs, income, etc. 2. Access the Budget Sheet of the workbook and enter the requested financial details. · Use the information from your Family Details sheet where requested. · Fill in the remaining blanks on the form based on your own information or you may make up a family. · You may provide your own salary or research the average salary for whatever profession you choose. Here is an example: According to salary.com: "The average Medical Laboratory Technician salary in Georgia is $48,223 as of September 01, 2018, but the range typically falls between $43,180 and $52,955." · If I was making up a family, I would use the average salary of $48,223 for my worksheet. · Enter your references for each source (all of your sources - utilities, insurance, etc.) on the Research links sheet of the worksheet. 3. Access the Reflection Questions sheet of the workbook and answer the questions in the space provided. Make sure to support your answers with facts from the textbook. Submission Guidelines · Download the attached interactive budgeting sheet and save it to your computer. · Complete the interactive budget sheet and save your entries. · Upload your completed interactive budget sheet as an attachment for this assignment. |

Assignment 3: Budget Planning Case Study Using this Workbook
This Excel workbook has three additional sheets you will work in: Family Details, Budget Sheet, Reflection questions and Research Links. To change sheets, locate these sheet names in the lower left corner and click on the desired sheet name. To enter information, click on the desired cell (box) that you would like to type and then begin typing. You can use the tab key and the arrow keys on your keyboard to easily move between cells.

Access the Family Details sheet of the workbook and identify a family scenario to work with. Use your own as an example or create one. Be prepared with the family name, jobs, income, etc. Access the Budget Sheet of the workbook and enter the requested financial details. Use the information from your Family Details sheet where requested. Fill in the remaining blanks on the form based on what you think the information would be based on your research. Enter your references on the Research links sheet of the workbook. Access the Reflection Questions sheet of the workbook and answer the questions in the space provided.
