Karen Mapp says that family engagement and its importance to student achievement has been discussed for years.  However, she is convinced that we just “tell people to go do it” and we really do not show them how.  As you view this video, what important tenets does she present to engage families?  Where have you seen any or all of them?  Is your school fully engaged and building relationships with parents to improve achievement?  If not, why not?
