In Week 3, you discussed the philosophical orientation(s) that you most identify with and how this will apply to your classroom practice. The emphasis of this week’s learning will be on exploring standards for guiding practice and strategies for teaching in today’s classrooms with students of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

• Discuss the evolution of assessment for students in the United States. How have perspectives on standardized tests changed over time? Why?
• What are some ways technology can be used to improve learning experiences for students with special needs? Describe the use of 3 strategies or tools for the classroom.
