Week 4 - Assignment 2: Apply Strategic Thinking and Policy Implementation to Improve Operations

The purpose of this assignment is to develop an inter-agency policy memorandum regarding the policy proposal to change the eligibility criteria for HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher Program. This HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program provides housing assistance to certain eligible individuals. For this assignment, you are a newly assigned member of an advisory group reporting directly the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Your policy proposal should including the following:

1. Explain the current eligibility criteria under the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
2. Identify and propose two changes to the eligibility criteria, and then explain your rationale.
3. Determine the policy implications for your proposed changes to the eligibility criteria.

 Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages

References:  Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources.

Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
