Week 2 - Discussion Forum 1

This week you will practice implementing reading strategies and reflecting on which strategies work, which don’t, and what changes you might need to make.

Prepare: Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, watch Annotating: Creating an Annotation System (Links to an external site.) and read Reading Comprehension Strategies (Links to an external site.).

Reflect:

Review the strategy you selected last week and reflect on how well that strategy worked for you.  (Under the category "Remember" I chose the word Identify.   The category referenced is Bloom's Taxonomy.)

Write:

In at least 150 words, address the following:

• Briefly describe the strategy you chose.
• Share how much time you spent reading, how many times you read the article, and how many words, phrases, and/or ideas were unfamiliar.
• What would you change about this strategy or your approach to reading for class? What would you do differently?
