TellUs.docx

Tell Us. The Subject that I chose to discuss is a topic that is related to my degree plan and one of the career fields that I plan to use once I retire from the military. I will discuss the importance of gun control in the United States. Gun control and firearm safety are very important, and I personally feel that anyone who has a weapon or weapons should have to go to mandatory classes and training.

What Topic? Gun Control

Three Questions:

1. How do we decided who can and cannot have a gun in the United States?

2. What does the constitution say about guns?

3. Does gun violence impact some people more than others?

Research Process

The research process according to von Winckelmann and Garcia (2021), is a total of six steps. I will show how I used these steps below to conduct my research appropriately.

First, I identified my need by considering things I need to know more about with gun control and gun safety and laws. Since this may be a bigger than a personal issue, I thought about ways I could help teach individuals to make the world a safer place.

Secondly, I gathered information by using online resources that included Credo to search for information on Gun Control. Searching for the information, I was able to find more information to improve my knowledge.

Finally, I was able to narrow down and define three research questions. To better give myself a structured outline of what I wanted my topic to focus on.

Keywords:

In order to start locating information, I need to use keywords in the library. These keywords will help locate articles and answer my questions. My keywords include:

"Firearm"

"Handgun"

"Gun Control Act"

"Firearms Owners Protection Act"

"National Firearms Act"

"Gun Safety"
