Consider the six aims of quality set forth by the Institute of Medicine (2001) (care that is safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, and patient centered), and apply them to the issue of reducing readmissions. For example, for equitable care, how does reducing readmissions affect care across all race and ethnicity groups? How do care interventions to reduce readmissions vary for different patient groups? Identify two or three issues for each aim.
