Controlling to Enhance Morale

You are the newly hired supervisor of the Medical Affairs department at a Pharmaceutical company. After meeting with your staff, you discover that many employees are not happy with how the department has been run and there is lack of motivation and morale.  

What research would need to be done in terms of the control of the department and how the problems were initiated with the previous manager?
