Views of WWI

Discuss the U.S. view of WWI vs. the view from abroad. Compare and contrast the views of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and French President Georges Clemenceau at the Versailles Peace Conference in 1919.  Consider these questions:

• What characterized their vision      of peace and rebuilding after the war?
• Why did they have such      different perspectives on peace with Germany?
• What can a comparison of their      views tell us about some of the strengths and weaknesses of Wilson’s      vision for America and the world?
• What long term impact did      Wilson’s decision have at home and abroad?
