Religious pluralism -- meaning the fact that there are many different religions in the world -- is an inescapable reality of our GLOBAL world. More and more, we encounter those of other cultures and other faiths. You will be called to interact with many different people in your future careers, in your neighborhoods, perhaps even in your own families and circles of friends. Throughout this course, we have stressed that people of all faiths share the same values, and share the same hopes for a peaceful and fulfilling life.

This discussion presents several questions: 

1)  Reflect upon Nostra aetate and the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together. Identify what you consider to be the most important point made in EACH document (that is, one important point from both). What most impressed you and why? Discuss your thoughts and explain why you think what you do.

2)  Can we relate positively and respectfully with those of other faiths while yet being deeply committed to our own?  

3)  Conflicts based on supposed religious and cultural differences have caused much senseless suffering in our history: Can our generation move toward understanding and respect and peace, and make a difference? Do you have any personal experiences you would like to share?
