For the Unit V assignment you are tasked with preparing a 500 word minimum essay which outlines and discusses the principles of the New Public Management.  

Discuss the underlying theoretical and conceptual assumptions driving the adaptation and the application of the NPM and the impact of adopting NPM techniques on the performance of public organization and on the publicprivate relationships.   Examine and discuss the implications to the public-private governance.   Identify and explain an example of the use of NPM in your local or state government.  o Consider other alternative approaches.
