Unit 4 Discussion HRM635 Training, Development, and Evaluation

 The purpose of unit discussion is to have an open dialogue that helps to expand your understanding of the course material as well as demonstrate your critical thinking abilities. While less formal than unit assignments, your posts should be supported with scholarly research. Participation throughout the assigned unit is encouraged so that you can participate in the give and take of a natural dialogue. 

1. Analyze the pros/cons of on-the-job and off-the-job training. Some might argue that on-the job training can result in employees who are poorly trained, and it should be avoided whenever possible. Others might argue that off-the-job training can be ineffective because it is generic in nature. In your response, consider the pros/cons of each and when one might be more effective than the other.
