Unit 3 Discussion: Windows, Mac, or Linux

During lunch you engage in a spirited debate with your colleagues on whether Windows, Mac, or Linux is the best choice for an Operating System (OS). There seems to be a generally even split decision amongst the people in the break room but for many different reasons.

You will again be assigned roles based on your birth month:

Make an argument for your assigned operating system.  Title your initial post with the OS you are assigned.

• Describe the following aspects of your operating system: cost, reliability, security, ease of use, application support, and performance.
• Which aspects have the most influence on OS selection for business environments? Explain.
• Which aspects have the most influence on home use? Explain.

Make sure to support your thoughts with resources, citing them in APA style. In your response to others, choose students who were assigned a different OS from you.  Compare and contrast your ideas with theirs.  Revisit your own post to engage with those who respond to you.
