Watch the required video “Recovering: Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.”  This video clip provides an overview of individual experiences with eating disorders.

Use the DSM-5 and information from the video to respond to the following questions on eating disorders.

1. What disorders do Arielle, Deesha, and Frank have and what are their symptoms?
2. Describe at least two factors that contributed to each of their eating disorders.
3. What are some of the effects of eating disorders that make them so harmful for people who have them?
4. What are some of the unique challenges that People of Color and males who have eating disorders experience? Use 1-2 scholarly sources to support your answer.
5. What has helped each of Arielle, Deesha, and Frank in their recoveries?
6. If you were a therapist in these cases, what therapeutic modality would you use to treat their eating disorders (e.g., cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, family systems)?  Use 1-2 scholarly sources to support your answer. If you have not taken a theories course, choose one theory from the above list and summary the articles.
