Union discussion

I need a comment on my classmate’s discussion. But on this discussion, I’m pro union he is not. I need at least at least a 300-word comment on what happened in Wisconsin during the banning of the teacher’s union

I grew up in a union protected family.  My father and uncle were union stewards for over 30 years each.  The unions helped both keep their jobs when they fought against health care cuts, hour cuts and fairness in the work place.  Over the years, the unions developed in-fighting and started steering agendas for personnel gain.  The unions were hurting their credibility with the companies and losing ground when it came to negotiate.  This was going on around the US.  Then in 2010, Wisconsin banned the teacher’s union, and states started following suit, this was driven through politicians that had lobbyist groups backing them.  I'm not going to get into all that, but if someone wants to, I'm ready.

Unions are no longer legitimate in my opinion.  They have too much in-fighting and are just looking for hand-outs.
