Here it is...No book I require in my classes gets a larger reaction than Celia, a slave. The author does a very good job of integrating the local, regional, national and world perspective of slavery. From your perspective, how does this book challenge your understanding of slavery as an institution? How does the book, help you understand how divided the republic was before the Civil War?
