Instructions:  Write a well developed paragraph on both of the following essay questions:

1.  Citizen oversight of the police has grown since 1968.  Do you believe this has helped to improve policing and police-community relations?  Why or why not?

2.  There is a lot of emphasis today on de-escalation in police training.  Is it appropriate for all encounters with threatening or aggressive people?  Describe situations where it is not appropriate, and situations where it is most appropriate.
