Article Requirements

Each article must meet all of the following criteria:

· Current: Published within the last 5 years

· Peer-reviewed: Published in a scholarly journal reviewed by experts

· Empirical: Reports findings from a research study

 

To confirm an article is empirical, look for sections such as:

· Method or Methodology

· Participants or Sample

· Data Collection

· Results or Findings

 

Do not use:

· Opinion articles

· Editorials

· Blogs or websites

· Pure literature reviews

· Systematic literature reviews

· Meta-analysis

· Dissertations or theses

· Conceptual or theoretical articles

· Opinion pieces, reports, or websites

 Structure

1. Title Page: Use the FCESCJ Title Page format

2. Introduction (approximately one to two paragraphs. Each paragraph must have 5 to 6 academic sentences)

· Briefly restate your topic from the SRP Part 1A in EDD 8100.

· Describe the focus of your literature search.

1. Five Annotated Entries: For each source, include:

1. APA Reference Provide the full citation in APA 7th edition format using a hanging indent.

2. Annotation (200–250 words): Each annotation must include:

· Summary Explain the purpose of the study, the research method, and the key findings.

· Explain how the study connects to your topic or problem area.

· Identify one strength or one limitation of the study.
