MKGT601 RESPOND TO MARTIN (NO MORE THAN 100 WORDS)

Good day, All,

I began my career in Contracting, Subcontracts, and Procurement while still in college. A six-month internship opportunity opened up, and I applied for it. As the internship was coming to an end, the company decided to make the position permanent and extended me an offer. During this period, I developed a strong interest in the industry and profession, realizing it was the path I wanted to pursue. I worked at Kellogg’s company in Argentina for over 3 years and then I moved back to the US.

This field requires a diverse knowledge base from various industries, all of which merge into this profession. You need to be familiar with accounting, finance, administration, supply chain management, import and export regulations, general and specific laws, common sense, negotiation, program management, technology, and more. On a personal note, I thrive in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment that this career demands, and it aligns perfectly with my personality.

As time went on, I earned my bachelor's degree, various certificates, and other credentials that helped me "climb the ladder" and gain experience in independent decision-making and leadership roles. However, I recently realized that despite reading books, listening to industry podcasts, and attending as many webinars as possible to stay informed about the latest trends and developments, it wasn’t enough. I understood that I needed to elevate my knowledge to provide more innovative, comprehensive, and effective solutions to my organization.

A former Director once told me that our role is about providing creative and innovative solutions to problems the organization cannot foresee

MKGT601 RESPOND TO JOESPH (NO MORE THAN 100 WORDS)

Hello class and Professor Holguin,

My name is Joe and I am originally from Raleigh, NC (Go Canes!). I'm an AD Air Force Captain stationed in Robins AFB, GA as an instructor Air Battle Manager. I live in Warner Robins with my wife Hannah and our 5 year old black lab Lola. My hobbies include recreational flying, typically a Diamond or Cessna, going to concerts, sporting events (mostly hockey, baseball or college football), lifting weights, but mostly I do whatever my wife tells me to do. Lately we've gotten into gardening, and so far, we have strawberries, carrots and peppers with plans to grow more fruits and vegetables in the fall.

I am taking this course as the last core requirements before diving into my concentration required classes for my MBA. I'm earning a Master's to broaden my post-military opportunities, though I plan to stay long-term, and it will help with promotion boards in the future.

As someone with a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in Agriculture Economics, I chose John Deere as the company I will be writing about throughout the course. John Deere is a agriculture equipment manufacturing company founded in 1837, and is based in Moline, IL. It currently has 73,000 employees and is worth approximately $158bil. John Deere primarily produces heavy machinery, but is split into four segments, production and precision agriculture, small agriculture and turf, construction and forestry, and financial services. The four components applies to the company differently than most because they can provide a wide array of products and services. For internal, John Deere prioritizes the product quality control and manufacturing efficiency. Financially, they focus on capital optimization, maximizing profitable growth, and strategic allocation of capital against growing competition. For learning and growth, the agriculture sector is increasingly becoming more reliant on AI, so R&D for new technology will be needed to stay a step ahead of competitors and shifting customer demands. Finally, most importantly, the customer focus will come into play with providing high-quality products, and taking advantage of their large industry footprint and employee base to provide efficient product delivery and repairs.

I look forward to learning more about everyone's strategic plans for their companies throughout the course!

- Joe

Mkggt 610 WEEK 2 DISCUSSION NO MORE THAN 250 WORDS

(for profit org: AMAZON)

While a balanced scorecard is used to achieve a specific goal, a SWOT analysis is used as part of broader planning. For the same organization you selected in Week 1, produce a SWOT analysis by conducting research using any two of the following three AI tools (free version is sufficient) for this organization: ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot. In your research, be sure to include metrics that can be used in the SWOT analysis. Synthesize the results produced by the two chosen tools to arrive at a finalized SWOT analysis for this organization that includes at least two entries for each of the four quadrants. Your primary posting should include an overview (in your own words) of the results produced by each of the two chosen tools, as well as the finalized SWOT analysis for this organization. For your additional postings, consider potential AI hallucinations in your classmates’ posts. In addition, as part of your responses to your classmates, pose questions to them about their SWOT analyses from the perspective of a VP of Operations role.

Busn622 WEEK 2 DISCUSSION NO MORE THAN 250 WORDS

(company to work for: AMAZON)

In today's digital marketplace, simply having an online presence is no longer enough—being easily found by your target audience is essential. This is where Search Engine Optimization (SEO) comes into play. SEO helps businesses improve their visibility in search engine results, especially in competitive industries where standing out can make a significant difference.

In your own words:

· How would you define Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

· Choose a company you currently work for or hope to work for in the future. Based on a quick online search, how well do you think the company ranks in terms of visibility? What stands out about their presence—or lack thereof?

· Based on your understanding so far, what are one or two strategies you would suggest this company implement to improve its SEO?

Busn 622 Respond to Tyson ( no more than 100 words)

My name is Tyshon Daye. I am originally from New Jersey. I am a retired United States Air Force veteran. Currently I reside in the freezing state of North Carolina with my family. I am big on education and leading by example. I spent my entire Air Force career as a Cardiopulmonary Technician. For those individuals who may not know exactly what Cardiopulmonary is, it is a medical career field that encompasses the diagnostic and treatment of all Respiratory (Lungs) and Cardiac (Heart) diseases. My previous career was quite rewarding, because it helped me develop the necessary tools to connect with people on an emotional and professional level. Furthermore, being in the military helped me hone in on three aspects of my life that I implement every day that I plant my feet on solid ground. Those things are Leadership, Commitment and Excellence in all I do. I genuinely enjoy helping people and seeing others thrive. Additionally, I take my role as a mentor, father, and leader quite seriously. I try to be an example for my children and other younger individuals I encounter daily. It is always my mission to get them to understand that if I can continue to set goals for myself and achieve them at my age, the sky is the limit for them as well. Furthermore, although my previous career field was quite fulfilling, I felt the need to pivot and move in a different direction professionally and become an entrepreneur. I presently own and operate a small trucking company with a fellow Air Force veteran who shares the same focus and commitment to business and providing a satisfactory product and service to the clients we serve as I do. The change in career had ignited a fire in me to expand on my previous educational achievements. It brought me here to American Military University. I recently completed my Undergraduate degree here at American Military University in Marketing with a concentration in sales. I have chosen to continue my education and to forge ahead towards completing my MBA with a concentration in Marketing. This is the sixth class that I have enrolled in for my Graduate degree. I am eagerly looking forward to learning more about Strategic Internet Marketing and how these tools can successfully be implemented in running my present and future business ventures. As we all know with the introduction of the internet, and the understanding of its ability to reach vast amounts of people marketers have turned it into a marketing paradise. Marketers can set up chat groups on various social media platforms and gain FREE information from consumers to help them design products and services that meet consumers overall needs. Companies that are unwilling to make the transition into the digital marketing era will find themselves falling by the waste side soon. Many firms have already met this fate, but there are more to follow if their mindset does not change from the stone age to the digital age. I am super stoked and excited about starting this journey, working with each one of you, and exchanging ideas throughout this semester. Good Luck to everyone this semester and let us successfully complete this mission together. Take care!

Busn 622 Respond to oscar ( no more than 100 words)

My name is Oscar Perezmedellin, and I retired about a year ago this month, after 22 years of active-duty service. I transitioned into civilian life and am now focused on shaping the next chapter of my career. I currently work for the University of Maryland, Medical Systems (UMMS), and I am also pursuing my master’s in business administration as part of a broader goal to continue improving and building growth in the private sector, specifically in business management and strategic planning. My intent is to combine my military leadership experience with advanced business knowledge so I can guide teams, streamline processes, and support organizational growth. I see myself stepping into a leadership role where I can contribute to digital transformation and strategic decisionmaking.

Outside of academic and career development, I value family time and staying active. My military background instilled discipline, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement traits that I plan to carry forward into my civilian career. I am taking this course because understanding strategic internet marketing is essential for modern business leaders. Digital platforms shape consumer behavior, influence brand perception, and drive competitive advantage. The course objectives, particularly those focused on strategic marketing frameworks and digital engagement, align directly with my longterm goals of supporting organizational strategy and leading teams in dynamic environments.

Current internet trends show a clear shift toward personalization, shortform video content, and datadriven marketing. Businesses are increasingly using AIpowered tools to tailor messaging, automate customer interactions, and analyze consumer behavior in real time. I’ve noticed that companies are investing heavily in omnichannel strategies, ensuring consistent experiences across websites, social media, and mobile apps. Additionally, brands are leveraging influencers and usergenerated content to build authenticity and trust. These trends reinforce the importance of understanding digital marketing as a strategic capability, especially for leaders responsible for guiding organizational growth in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
