Truman's Atomic Bomb Decision

Write a 450-500 word response to the following question:

Was President Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki justified?

Explain your answer with specific historical evidence and dialogue of previous historians who have analyzed this topic.
